Scheduling Recurring Items in Outlook 2007

Recurring items are meetings, appointments or events that occur more than once at a regular interval. For instance, a project group may wish to schedule a meeting every other Tuesday or your bowling league may meet on the third Thursday of every month. Once you create a recurring item, Outlook automatically displays each instance of the recurrence in your calendar. Recurring items are designated by the icon.To designate an event as recurring, click the Recurrence button on the Ribbon instance the Meeting, Appointment or Event dialog box to display the Recurrence (task, appointment or meeting) dialog box. Select the Recurrence pattern and recurrence range of the item.To Schedule a Recurring Item:

  1. Open the event, meeting or appointment you want to change and click the Recurrence button on the Options group on the Ribbon.
  2. Or
  3. Select Actions > New Recurring Event, Meeting or Appointment from the menu.
  4. Click the applicable Recurrence Pattern (Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly) radio button.
  5. Click the desired Recurrence Pattern Options.
  6. Click OK.
  7. For an appointment or event, click Save & Close.
  8. For a meeting, click Send.

To modify a recurring item, double-click the item in the Calendar View pane and select Open this occurrence to modify only the selected item or Open the series to modify all occurrences of the item.
