When you click the Microsoft Office button in Word or other Office applications, the list of recently opened files appears in the right pane. Clicking any of the file names in the recently used file list will open that file. However, you may wish that this list had a little better memory.
You can modify the number of files displayed in the Recently Used File List the following way:
- Click the Microsoft Office button
- Click Word Options
- Click Advanced in the left pane
- Scroll all the way down until the “Display” area is visible
- Type the number of items you want displayed in the “Show this number of recent documents” box.
