While I was browsing articles on the Lifehacker.com blog, I came across an article that discussed a new online service called Soocial, that I thought I’d share with all of you.  Soocial is a Web application that allows you to sync your contacts in Gmail, Outlook, Mac OS X Address Book, Highrise and over 400 phones (Blackberry support is coming soon).  It is basically a “one address book” solution to managing all of your contacts – and the best part, is that it’s free, as it is still in Public Beta.  This means, of course, that there still may be some stability issues.  Social also creates a backup for all of your registered devices and you can easily export a backup or restore your data from a backup.

It is very easy to get started – sign up for an account and then add your accounts or devices.  If you are using Outlook or the Mac Address Book, you will first need to download a small utility.  After installing the utility, you then be prompted to begin your sync.  If you are syncing to a gmail account, all you need to do is enter your password and then begin the sync.

One thing that I especially liked about it was the ability to sync both PC’s and Macs, both of which our office uses regularly.  As of this writing, there does not appear to be direct support for the iPhone; this is solved however if you sync your iPhone with your Mac Address Book.

Overall, this is a great application for anyone who uses any combination of Outlook, Gmail, Macintosh Address Book, or any of the 400 supported mobile phones and wants to ensure that your contacts are synchronized between all of your devices.

Too bad there wasn’t something like this to sync multiple calendars.
