Yesterday, we looked at how to restore the Normal Template in Word and briefly mentioned the Style Organizer. What the Style Organizer does is allows you to copy Styles and Macros between documents or document templates. This comes in especially handy for documents created on different computer so you do not have to create the same style twice (or painstakingly reformat a document).
If you style you are copying has the same name as an existing style, you can use change the name of the item using the rename feature in the Organize dialog box. This way, you can preserve the original style, if you wish. The Organize dialog box also allows you to Delete items.
To Use the Organizer to Copy Styles:
1. Click the Dialog Launcher on the lower-right hand corner of the Styles Pane.
2. Click the Manage Styles button.

3. Click the Import/Export button.
Styles used in the active document are displayed in the left window.
By default, the Normal template is displayed in the right window.
4. To copy from or to a different file, click the Close file button.
Click the Open File button
Navigate to the folder that contains the file.
Select the file and then click open.
5. To copy a style, select the Style you want to copy.
To select more than one style, click and drag downward or upward.
7. When finished, click Close.
8. Click Yes to save the copied styles.
