Creating a Table of Figures in Word 2007

After you have added captions to your tables and figures, you can then create a Table of Figures. When creating a document in which there are many illustrations, images, charts, and tables, it is often helpful to the reader to provide a Table of Figures, which allows them to quickly find the figures in your documents. When generating a Table of Figures, Word looks for the Style Code that you specified when inserting your captions.
