Inserting Voice Comments into a Word 2007 Document

by rhyttinen on January 23, 2009

In Word 2003, you were able to insert voice comments into your Word documents from the Reviewing Toolbar. However, there is no such option on the Word 2007 Ribbon. The option is actually still there – it’s just hidden. You just need to add the Insert Voice button to the Quick Access Toolbar by following these steps:

  1. Click the Microsoft Office Button.
  2. Click Word Options
  3. In the left pane, click Customize
  4. Click the “Choose Commands From” drop-down list” and select “Commands Not in the Ribbon”
  5. Click the Add button and then click OK.

The Insert Voice button will now appear on the Quick Access Toolbar. To insert a audio comment, click the Insert Voice button and then click the Record button. Click the stop button when you are finished recording your comment.
