Removing a Leopard Application from Automatically Launching at Startup

by rhyttinen on February 18, 2009

In yesterday’s post, we looked at how to set applications to automatically launch when we login to our Mac. Sometimes when we install new program, it is automatically added to our startup list. This may not always be what we want. Luckily, it is quite easy to remove an application from the Login Items list.

Login Items Screen

To Remove an Application from the Login Items List:

  1. Click the Apple > System Preferences
  2. Click Accounts
  3. Click on your user name in the left window
  4. Click the Login Items tab
  5. In the list window, click the application that you want to remove.
  6. Click the minus symbol (0) on the bottom of the login items window.
