If you create manuscripts that require a lot of footnotes, you no doubt already know that you can add a footnote by clicking the References tab on the Ribbon, clicking the Insert Footnote button and then typing in your footnote.
An even quicker way – eliminating the need to switch to a different Ribbon tab – is by using the keystroke combination CTRL + ALT + F.
This will automatically create a new footnote in your document so all you have to do is type in your text. If you enter a lot of footnotes, this can be a time-saver.
