Because of privacy concerns, it is not recommended to display everyone’s e-mail address when sending mail to multiple recipients. Some people may even become quite upset with you if you do so. One option is to send an e-mail to yourself and Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) your recipients. Unfortunately, e-mail sent this way is often flagged as spam and ends up in the recipients junk folder.
A better option is to send an e-mail to an undisclosed recipients group. You can name this group anything you like: Undisclosed Recipients, Fred’s Bowling Group, My Best Buddies, etc. Only the group name will show up in the recipient’s To field, thus hiding all the other e-mail addresses.
To create an “undisclosed recipients” group
- Click the New button’s drop-down arrow and choose “Contact”.
- Type the name for your group in the Full Name field (i.e. Undisclosed recipients, Movie group, etc.)
- Type in your own e-mail address in the Address field.
- Click the Save and Close icon.

To send an e-mail to the “undisclosed recipients group”
- Click the New button’s drop-down arrow and choose “Mail Message” to create a new e-mail message.
- Click the To button
- Click the “Undisclosed Recipients” entry in the Select Names dialog box.
- Click the To-> button and then click OK.
- Type the contents of your message and then click Send.

That answer is for field TO will apper as undisclosed-recipients, the question is : How to create email and in the FROM FIELD will see as undisclosed-recipients , so the recipients can not see my email address, please help, Thanks.
From the Outlook menu, click Tools > Account Settings. Select the account you want to modify and then click change. In the “Your Name” box, type in the name you want to appear in the From field (i.e “Undisclosed”). In the e-mail address box, type in the e-mail address you want displayed. This must be in a valid email format, such as nobody@noone.com. This will then provide a fake e-mail address and name. Hope that helps.
That was totally not helpful. Where do I put the multiple recipients addresses if I want to keep them undisclosed?
As mentioned in the article, you would create a group and add the addresses of the recipients to the group. Then, add the group to the BCC or to the “To” field of your email message.
I found this site via “help” in Outlook and given its age I am not sure if this thread is still active. But the question of how to create the “group” is not explained above. Creating the name is one thing; getting a list of email addresses to BCC is quite another. Outlook 2007 will alllow only one address per contact (although 2 additional alternates are permitted). How do you create a list of addresses to BCC without having to re-type them each time you send to the “group”?
Hi Joel – we just uploaded a blog post on how to create a contact group (mailing list) in Outlook. Hopefully this will answer your questions.
Having same problem as Joel addressed on Jan 15, 2012 @ 9:49. (Tried to use the control key to see if addl recipients could be added, but that didn’t work.)
Unfortunately, I no longer have Outlook 2007 on my machine. Hopefully, someone who is running 2007 may have some ideas?
One thing that I do not understand is if I write only my email address to the undisclosed recepients group, then how the other members will receive this email as you described above under “To send an e-mail to the “undisclosed recipients group””? Where shall I write the others’ email addresses?
Hi Koray,
Once you create your undisclosed recipients group, you would then add the members to the group. So whenever you add the group name to the To: field of a message, each member of the group will receive the message.
