According to the Wired.com Blog, Google is preparing to release its own operating system – Google Chrome OS – to compete with Microsoft Windows . The Operating System will be lightweight and applications will mostly run inside of Google’s Chrome browser. According to Google, “Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS”. Google also stated that with the new OS, users won’t have to deal with computer threats like malware and viruses.
The release is expected at the end of the year, close to the time when Microsoft plans to release Windows 7, the latest version of its Windows Operating System.
