Jump from One Table to Another in Word

by rhyttinen on September 17, 2009

In addition to jumping to a specific page in Word, the Go To tab of the Find and Replace dialog box allows you to navigate from one table to another without having to scroll through the text of your document. This comes in especially handy if your document is lengthy or contains several tables and you don’t wish to scroll through your entire document to find the table you are looking for.

Go To tab of the Find and Replace dialog box

To move from one table to the next:

  1. Press F5 or use the Ctrl + G keystroke combination.
  2. Click Table in the Go To What list box.
  3. Click the Next button to move to the first table in your document
    Or
Press the Alt + T keystroke combination
  4. Repeat step three to cycle through all the tables in your document.
  5. To navigate to the previous table in your document, click the Previous button
    Or
Press the Alt + S keystroke combination.
  6. To quickly jump to a specific sequential table in your document – for example, the 5th table in your document – type in the number in the Enter Table Number box.
  7. When finished, click Close.
