In Excel, there is no Bullet or Numbering icon with which you can easily create a bulleted list like you have in Word or PowerPoint. But there is a way! To create a bulleted list in Excel, you will need to create a custom format which you can then apply to any text entries.
To Create Bulleted Lists in Excel
- Select the cells to which you want to apply bullets.
- Click the dialog launcher on the Number group on the Home Ribbon to display the Format Cells dialog box.

- Click the Number tab.
- Select “Custom” in the Category list box.
- Clear any existing formatting in the Type box.
- Hold down the ALT key on your KEYPAD (not the number keys on top of your keyboard) and type: 0149.
- Release the ALT key.
- Press the spacebar twice (the add two spaces between the bullet and the first letter of text that you type).
- Type: @

- Click OK
