Rotate Objects in PowerPoint

Graphical objects in PowerPoint can be rotated. That is to say, they can be spun around various angles around the object’s center. Using the Rotate feature on the Arrange group of the Format tab, you can rotate an object in 90 degree increments or you can use the freeform rotate tool to rotate an object by any increment that you wish. When you select a graphical object, a green rotate handle appears, allowing you to rotate the object freeform style to any orientation you wish.

You can also rotate objects from the 3-D rotation category in the Format Shape dialog box.

To Rotate an Object

  1. Select the graphical object that you wish to rotate.
  2. Move your mouse pointer over the green rotate handle until the freeform rotating tool appears
  3. Click and drag the object around in a circle until it is in the desired position.
  4. Release the mouse button.
    Or
  1. Click the Format tab under the Drawing Tools group.
  2. Click the Rotate button on the Arrange group.
  3. Choose the desired rotation increment from the list.

Tip: You can also rotate objects from the Format Shape dialog box. Click the 3-D Rotation category in the left pane and enter the degrees in the Z: box (or click the Clockwise or Counter-clockwise button until the desired rotation increment is attained).
