There may be certain instances when you need to convert the results of your Excel formula to a static value – that is to say, the cell no longer contains the formula but rather the formula result.
Keep in mind that there’s no going back so you may wish to make a backup of your worksheet before converting your formulas to values. However, you do have the option of pasting the values in another area of your worksheet, thus leaving your original formula intact.
To Convert a Formula to Values (Formula Results):
- Select the cell range you wish to convert.
- Click the Copy button on the Ribbon (or press Ctrl + C)
- Click the arrow on the Paste button on the Ribbon and choose Paste Special (or press Ctrl + Alt + V).
- Under the Paste area, click the Radio button next to “Values”

- Click OK
