How to Prevent Word from Inserting Page Breaks within a Paragraph

As type in Microsoft Word, you may notice that Word inserts an automatic page break within a paragraph as you near the bottom of the page. This may be fine in certain instances but sometimes, you might want to keep all of the text of a paragraph together on the same page, especially if the text is surrounded a border. To ensure that all of the sentences of your paragraph remain together, use the Keep Lines Together feature.

To Prevent Word from Inserting Automatic Page Breaks

  1. Click the Home tab on the Ribbon.
  2. Click the Paragraph Dialog Launcher.
  3. Click the Line and Page Breaks tab on top of the window.
  4. Click the checkbox next to Keep Lines Together.
  5. Click OK.
