Inserting Online Video into OneNote

Posted by Roger Hyttinen on

OneNote now has the ability to embed inline videos directly into your notes. This comes in especially handy for instructional notes that you might want to share with others. As of this time, OneNote supports the following online video services:

  • Dailymotion
  • Office Mix
  • Sway
  • Vimeo
  • Vine
  • YouTube

In order to add online videos, you will need to know the URL (the link) of the video.

To Insert Online Video into a Note

  1. Copy the video link from the video source.
  2. Set the insertion point at the location in a note where you wish to insert the recording.
  3. Click the Insert tab on the Ribbon.
  4. Click the Online Video icon on the Media group of the Ribbon.
